OUGD505: Research book format

While watching some of the Looney tunes cartoons from the Golden collection I realised they were at an odd aspect ratio, as it clearly wasn't 4:3 (below)

On Amazon it specified they were shown at the following aspect ratio: 1.37:1 (also known as Academy Ratio), while this and 1.75:1 are the ratios the cartoons would have originally been produced too.

This makes sense however as the cartoons would have been shown within Cinemas originally before or after a feature film or on their own once they became popular.

The format placed landscape looks really good, however I do like the size of it portrait, If I was to make my book this size when it's fully opened that would be again to the same aspect ratio. However If it was to be landscape and open from the sides it wouldn't no longer be. (It'd be difficult to print as well because it'd either be really small in making it fit to normal paper sizes or too big to fit on paper that would cost to much)
